Honda Civic Concept 2012 To be Unveiled Detroit Auto Show

Honda says the new 2012 Honda Civic is inspired by the concept above. Honda has released a preview illustration of the next generation Honda Civic. To be unveiled in Detroit at the 2011 North American
International Auto Show in concept form, the design sketch shows a sleek and aerodynamic profile strongly resembling the Honda CR-Z .

You can see a teaser of that concept in the drawing here and, needless to say, it appears the next Civic will closely resemble the current vehicle - at least from the front. The wheels remind us of the recently released 2012 Audi A6 , but the sharply raked windshield is all Honda. A more aggressive lower fascia with LED daytime running lights in the foglight surrounds is new, and the grille is a bit smaller than the one on the outgoing car.

Engine options remain a bit of a mystery, but previous reports have indicated that the Civic may receive a new petrol and diesel mill. A dual-clutch transmission is also a possibility, but nothing is official as of yet.
